A study conducted last year by the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) revealed that start-ups with patent and trademark rights have a significantly higher chance of securing financing in their early growth phase1.
But what is the best way to market your own idea while protecting it at the same time? How can you best prepare for the patenting process and what respective funding is available to young companies? To answer these and many other questions, the MCEI is offering an event on the topic of industrial property rights on March 19, 2024 in collaboration with MARS (Center for Entrepreneurship at Mannheim University of Applied Sciences), the Wirtschaftsförderung Mannheim, the Life Science Accelerator Baden-Württemberg and the Technologie-Lizenz Büro.
In an interactive presentation, Dirk Windisch, PhD biologist and innovation manager at Technologie-Lizenz Büro (TLB), and his colleague Leon Windel, specialized in business development and IP consulting for start-ups, will focus on topics such as intellectual property and its patentability, the role of licensing as well as the succession for the WIPANO funding program.
The Technologie-Lizenz-Büro (TLB) GmbH has been supporting universities, independent inventors, and companies in maximizing the potential of their inventions for 25 years.
In addition, participants can look forward to an exciting testimonial from Sid Koneti, co-founder of SkoneLabs, a startup that recently successfully completed the patenting process.
SkoneLabs helps its customers minimize food loss and waste through effective quality monitoring of unpackaged fresh produce using IoT sensors and artificial intelligence. By predicting the spoilage of these foods, their product enables the user to take targeted measures and thus significantly reduce the loss of goods.
We are looking forward to ending this event with a Q&A session and an open exchange among participants.
