The supervisory board of TLB GmbH had a meeting at ARENA 2036 in Stuttgart-Vaihingen.
After a few virtual meetings due to the pandemic, the Chairman of the supervisory board of TLB GmbH, Prof. Dr. Alexander Brem, and the managing director, Dr.-Ing. Hubert Siller, found the opportunity to officially say goodbye to two former members of the supervisory board of TLB GmbH.
Prof. Dr. Thomas Graf, who was acting as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TLB GmbH from 2014 until the end of 2020 and had already resigned from his position, was officially farewelled. The director of the Institute for Blasting Tools at the University of Stuttgart, had joined the supervisory board of Technologie-Lizenz-Büro GmbH in 2009, before he was elected as the Chairman in 2014.
The board also farewelled Prof. Dr. Winfried Lieber, the former rector of Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, who was already retired from the supervisory board in June 2021. Prof. Lieber, was the member of the board from the beginning and after 23 years, he retired last year and resigned from the supervisory board of Technologie-Lizenz-Büro (TLB) GmbH.
The managing director of TLB GmbH, Dr.-Ing. Hubert Siller, thanked both former supervisory board members for their many years of support and advice: “They both provided remarkable supports to strengthen and enhance technology transfer in the state of Baden-Württemberg. With their many years of continuous work as members of the supervisory board, they both enabled structures that not only secured research results, but also found their ways into the global market. Their insights regarding the future technological challenges has also set a decisive tone for TLB-GmbH as a patent exploitation agency”.
The current supervisory board of Technologie-Lizenz-Büro (TLB) GmbH includes Prof. Dr. Alexander Brem (Director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research, University of Stuttgart) as the Chairman, Prof. Dr. Sabine Rein, (President of the University of Applied Sciences Konstanz Technik Wirtschaft und Gestaltung), and Mr. Dieter Kaufmann (Chancellor of the University of Ulm). Prof. Rein and Mr. Dieter Kaufmann attended the meeting virtually due to the pandemic.
The content of the meeting was about setting new strategies regarding successful technology marketing in such a changing global and regional environment. Further steps towards cooperation with start-ups were also discussed. TLB is planning new offers tailored to different target groups. In particular, an offer in the area of invention and patent management for start-ups will be launched.
Additionally, TLB as a patent utilisation agency, advises universities and non-university research institutes on how optimally utilise the potentials of their inventions. TLB is a service provider for universities and higher education institutions in Baden-Württemberg and beyond. Its service packages include evaluation of invention disclosures, patent registration, patent management and technology exploitation activities.
