The Rudolf Diesel Medal is the oldest innovation award in Europe. The prize, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, will be awarded in July at the MAN Museum in Augsburg.
One of the nominees is Technologie-Lizenz-Büro (TLB) GmbH, which is one of three companies in the "Best Innovation Promotion" category. A total of twelve companies and institutions have been nominated in four categories. In addition to the category "Best Innovation Promotion", there are the further categories "Most Successful Innovation Performance", "Most Sustainable Innovation Performance" and "Best Media Communication".
The Rudolf Diesel Medal, Germany's oldest innovation prize for commercially successful, entrepreneurial innovation achievements, has been awarded since 1953 in memory of the engineer, inventor and entrepreneur Rudolf Diesel. The Rudolf Diesel Medal honors natural persons and institutions for special achievements in the field of invention and innovation culture. The Rudolf Diesel Medal is awarded by the non-profit German Institute for Invention (D.I.E e.V.). The winners are chosen by the Rudolf Diesel Board of Trustees, which represents the industrial management elite with technical expertise in Germany. These are around sixty technology executives from world market-leading, medium-sized technology companies, which together employ half a million people and generate sales of over 125 billion euros.
